Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Chicken Parmesan Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all your ingredients and equipment, including a large mixing bowl and a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add in your shredded cooked chicken along with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir continuously for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your cooked pasta of choice with the marinara sauce. Add in half of the grated Parmesan and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Once the chicken is seasoned, add it to the bowl with the pasta mixture. Gently fold the chicken into the pasta, ensuring it's well distributed.
  5. Transfer the chicken and pasta mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 10 minutes. Watch for the cheese to bubble and turn golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil or parsley before serving.
