In a medium saucepan, combine the pitted cherries, lime juice, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the cherries soften, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for about 15 minutes.
Once cooled, strain the cherry-lime mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
Add the sparkling water to the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cherry limeade over the ice.
Garnish each glass with lime slices and a few whole cherries. Serve immediately.
