Preparation Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine pitted and halved fresh cherries with 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a kettle. Pour it over 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf Earl Grey tea in a heatproof teapot or cup and steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Reduce the heat and add 1 cup of warm milk to the cherry mixture. Stir to combine and introduce a cinnamon stick if using. Warm for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup, adjusting for sweetness. Mix until combined.
- Strain the cherry and milk mixture over the brewed Earl Grey tea in your mug. Serve warm or over ice.
