Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast or thighs cubed
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
For the Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for at least 1 hour.
  2. Cook marinated chicken in a hot skillet until browned; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and ginger in butter until soft.
  4. Add tomato puree and spices; simmer 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in cream and add the chicken back to the pan.
  6. Simmer until thickened and chicken is cooked through. Serve with rice or naan.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight enhances the flavor. Use coconut milk instead of cream for a dairy-free version.
