  • 2 cans Canned Tomatoes Diced or crushed.
For the Finish
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa Powder Unsweetened.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat for about 1 minute. Add chopped onion and sauté for approximately 7 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and diced jalapeño, cook for 1 minute. Then add chili powder and chipotle powder, stirring until fragrant.
  3. Add the drained beans and diced tomatoes to the pot, pour in vegetable broth and stir well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Taste the chili and season with salt and pepper. Stir in cocoa powder to deepen the flavor.
  6. Ladle the chili into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions or toppings of choice.
