Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for best juiciness
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup optional, for moisture
  • Burger buns for serving
  • Cheese slices lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and condiments (optional)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Mix gently with your hands until just combined—don’t overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, pressing a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing while cooking.
  3. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. Add cheese slices in the last minute of cooking, if using.
  6. Toast the burger buns if desired, then assemble with your favorite toppings and condiments. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • 80/20 beef gives the juiciest results. Leaner blends may dry out.
  • Don’t press down on the patties while cooking—this squeezes out juices.
  • Make it your own with seasoning blends like smoked paprika or chili powder.
  • For extra indulgence, add crispy bacon or a fried egg on top.
