These perfectly crispy baked potatoes are golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Ideal as a side or loaded up as a meal, they’re simple, satisfying, and made with pantry staples.

Ingredients
  

  • Russet potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Scrub and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
  3. Prick each potato several times with a fork.
  4. Rub each with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
  5. Place directly on the oven rack and bake for 45–60 minutes until crispy outside and tender inside.
  6. Let cool slightly before slicing open and adding toppings.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, skip the foil and bake directly on the rack. Add toppings like sour cream, cheese, bacon, or chives for loaded potatoes.
