  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

Method

  1. Prepare the Potato Mixture
  2. Boil the potatoes until fork-tender, then drain and mash until smooth.
  3. Mix in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cornstarch, and flour until well combined.
  4. Shape the Sticks
  5. Take a small amount of the potato mixture and flatten it in your palm.
  6. Place a mozzarella cheese stick in the center and wrap the potato mixture around it, forming a stick shape.

  8. Roll each stick in flour, dip it into the beaten egg, and then coat it with breadcrumbs.
  9. Chill Before Frying
  10. Place the coated sticks in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  11. Fry Until Golden Brown
  12. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the sticks until crispy and golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  13. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  14. Serve & Enjoy
  15. Serve hot with marinara sauce, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo!

Notes

For Extra Crispiness – Double coat with breadcrumbs.
Freeze Before Frying – Prevents cheese from leaking out.
Healthier Option – Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
Cheese Variations – Try cheddar, gouda, or pepper jack for different flavors.
