Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for spice
  • Lemon wedges and fresh parsley for garnish

Method

  1. Prepare the Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix paprika, salt, black pepper, oregano, thyme, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and rub them with olive oil. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly on both sides.
  3. Cook the Salmon: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and sear the salmon for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Pour the glaze over the salmon in the last minute of cooking.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges, and enjoy with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For an extra smoky flavor, grill the salmon over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes per side.
  • If baking, cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, then broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispy top.
  • Substitute soy sauce with Worcestershire sauce for a deeper umami flavor.
  • Pair with Texas Roadhouse-style sides like buttered corn, green beans, or a loaded baked potato.
