Ingredients

For the Shrimp Mixture
  • 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons green onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper or black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Toast
  • 8 slices white or milk bread crusts removed
For the Dipping Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Kewpie mayo
  • 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha to taste

Equipment

  • Air fryer

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, finely chop the peeled and deveined shrimp until it becomes pasty and sticky. Combine with minced garlic, chopped green onion, salt, white pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and cornstarch, mixing until well blended.
  2. Trim the crusts off the bread slices. On half of each slice, generously spread the shrimp mixture and top with the remaining slices, pressing gently.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes, then lightly coat both sides of the assembled toast with cooking spray.
  4. Place the shrimp toast in the air fryer basket and air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crisping.
  5. Mix Kewpie mayo and Sriracha in a bowl to prepare the dipping sauce, adjusting Sriracha to your desired heat level.
  6. Once cooked, let the shrimp toast cool for a minute before serving immediately with the dipping sauce on the side.
