Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Whisk together flour, sugar, instant yeast, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl until well blended.
  2. Add plant-based milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly sticky.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1.5 hours.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into 6 pieces, and flatten into discs. Roll in sesame seeds to coat.
  6. Heat oil in a deep saucepan to 350°F (180°C), ready for frying.
  7. Fry each sesame-coated disc until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, flipping every 5-7 seconds.
  8. Remove and drain the donuts on paper towels, allowing them to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
