Baking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of fine sea salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of melted unsalted butter, ½ cup of light brown sugar, and ½ cup of granulated sugar. Mix until glossy and well-blended.
  4. Beat in 1 large room-temperature egg and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in 1 cup of lightly toasted Rice Krispie cereal and 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
