Preparation
- Place the beef chuck roast in the freezer for about 40 minutes to make slicing easier.
- Slice the beef against the grain into very thin strips, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
Make the Marinade
- In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, apple cider vinegar, Korean BBQ sauce, soy sauce, water, crushed garlic, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
Marinate the Beef
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Marinating up to 24 hours enhances flavor.
Cook the Beef
- Heat a skillet over high heat, add sesame oil and cook a portion of the marinated beef for about 5 minutes until browned.
Serve
- Remove the beef from the skillet and serve hot with steamed jasmine rice and lettuce leaves.
