  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup Water Dilutes marinade.
Beef
  • 1 lb Beef Chuck Roast Can substitute with ribeye or flank steak.
Cooking
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil For cooking.
  • 1 medium Onion Thinly sliced.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup Thinly Sliced Bell Peppers For added nutrition.
  • 1 tbsp Gochujang For a spicy kick.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the freezer for about 40 minutes to make slicing easier.
  2. Slice the beef against the grain into very thin strips, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
Make the Marinade
  1. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, apple cider vinegar, Korean BBQ sauce, soy sauce, water, crushed garlic, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
Marinate the Beef
  1. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Marinating up to 24 hours enhances flavor.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat, add sesame oil and cook a portion of the marinated beef for about 5 minutes until browned.
Serve
  1. Remove the beef from the skillet and serve hot with steamed jasmine rice and lettuce leaves.
