Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed cubed hash browns, crumbled bacon, 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Spoon the hash brown mixture into a greased 13x9-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and 2% milk until well blended.
- Carefully pour the egg mixture over the assembled hash brown layer in the baking dish.
- Dust the top of the casserole with a light sprinkle of paprika.
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes.
- Once baked, sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top and return to oven for an additional 5–10 minutes.
- After cooling for a few minutes, slice into portions and serve hot.
