  4. Halve the cucumber lengthwise, scoop out seeds, slice, sprinkle with salt, and let drain for 30 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooled pasta, drained cucumbers, soaked onions, and optional add-ins. Toss gently.
  6. Pour dressing over the salad mixture and fold in gently, adjusting seasoning to taste.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
