Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Transfer this mixture to a saucepan along with ½ cup of freshly squeezed orange juice, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of minced ginger, and 1 minced garlic clove. Heat over medium heat while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon (about 3-5 minutes).
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with oiled aluminum foil.
  3. Place the salmon filets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Baste half of the teriyaki sauce over the salmon.
  4. Bake the salmon for approximately 14 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the oven and baste it again with the remaining teriyaki sauce. Switch your oven setting to broil, and return the salmon for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Once broiling is complete, serve your Orange Teriyaki Salmon over a bed of steamed rice, and garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and red pepper flakes.
