- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice a small, firm cabbage into ½-inch thick rounds and brush both sides with olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine your choice of ground meat with finely chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. If desired, add an egg.
- Shape the meat mixture into patties that closely match the size of the cabbage rounds.
- Place the patties on the baking sheet next to the cabbage rounds and bake for about 25 minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle cheese on top of the patties and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Allow the burgers to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
