Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large saucepan, combine sliced peaches, ½ cup granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Let macerate for about 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until boiling, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Melt the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish in the preheated oven.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, remaining ½ cup granulated sugar, and salt.
  6. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.
  7. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter.
  8. Sprinkle ground cinnamon and nutmeg over the top.
  9. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  11. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
