  • 1/4 cup Water

  • 1 pint Fresh Strawberries ripe and in season

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly and pat them dry. Skewer each dry strawberry onto wooden skewers.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to provide a non-stick surface for the finished tanghulu.
  3. In a pot, combine granulated sugar and water, heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Cook until it reaches the hard-crack stage at 300ºF-310ºF.
  4. Carefully dip each strawberry into the hot syrup and allow the excess to drip off before placing on parchment paper.
  5. Allow the coated strawberries to cool for a few minutes before serving immediately.
