Step-by-Step Instructions for Simple Fruit Crumble
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (Fan 180°C/Gas 6) and prepare a greased deep baking dish measuring approximately 27 × 23cm.
- Layer 1 kg of frozen fruit in the baking dish, followed by 2 chopped Granny Smith apples.
- Sprinkle 4 tablespoons of caster sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground mixed spice, lemon zest, and drizzle with 2 teaspoons of vanilla bean paste.
- In a bowl, combine 150g of cold, diced butter, 4 tablespoons of caster sugar, and 150g of plain flour until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add 80g of rolled oats.
- Spread the crumble mixture over the fruit layer, ensuring all fruit is covered and lightly press down.
