Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar lightly packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Easter-themed M&M's

Method

  1. Preheat Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients – In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth, then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined.
  4. Add Chocolate Chips – Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Shape Dough – Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Bake – Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  7. Decorate Immediately – While the cookies are still warm, press two whole M&M’s onto each cookie to create the bunny’s “face.” Then, add two M&M halves above for the “ears.”
  8. Cool and Serve – Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • To ensure M&M’s stick properly, press them into the cookies while they are still warm.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Swap out chocolate chips for white chocolate or peanut butter chips for a different flavor.
