Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Evenly layer the deli ham on the puff pastry, followed by the cheddar cheese and a thin spread of Dijon mustard.
  4. Tightly roll the pastry into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  5. Slice the chilled log into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of the pinwheels for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until pinwheels are golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm as an appetizer.
