Ingredients

For the Pork Chops:
  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

1. Season and Sear the Pork Chops
  1. Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
2. Prepare the Mushroom Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and diced onions.
  2. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the mushrooms are golden and the onions turn translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Create the Creamy Base
  1. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Mix well and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
4. Simmer the Pork Chops
  1. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
  2. Cover and let them simmer for 15-20 minutes until tender and fully cooked.
5. Garnish and Serve
  1. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

    • For extra tenderness, use bone-in pork chops and let them simmer longer for melt-in-your-mouth results.
    • Substitutions: Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter version.
    • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
    • Reheating Tip: Warm over low heat to maintain the creamy texture.
