Ingredients

  • Boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • All-purpose flour
  • Butter
  • Garlic cloves minced
  • Honey
  • Soy sauce
  • Apple cider vinegar

Method

  1. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets. Lightly coat each piece with flour.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant.
  4. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar, letting it simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce and letting it absorb the flavors for a couple of minutes.
  6. Serve immediately with rice, vegetables, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the chicken – Remove it from heat as soon as it reaches 165°F (75°C) to keep it tender.
  • For a thicker sauce – Add a cornstarch slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water) to the sauce while simmering.
  • Make it spicy – Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a kick.
  • Dairy-free option – Swap butter for olive oil or avocado oil.
  • Storage – Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
