Ingredients

For the Pasta
  • 1 pound Uncooked Shrimp Use size 31-40 for the best texture, thaw under cool water if frozen.
  • 8 ounces Fettuccine Provides the perfect structure to hold the creamy sauce.
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Adds richness and a delightful flavor.
  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese Use softened Philadelphia for smoother incorporation.
  • 3/4 cup Heavy Cream Creates the creamy sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Chicken Broth Enhances the flavor depth.
  • 2 large cloves Garlic Minced for essential flavor.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated, contributes nutty flavor.
  • Salt & Pepper Adjust to taste for perfect balance.

Equipment

  • large pot
  • Large skillet
  • colander

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add softened cream cheese, heavy cream, chicken broth, and minced garlic. Stir continuously for about 5 minutes until creamy.
  3. Stir in freshly grated Parmesan cheese into the skillet. Cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly until cheese melts and thickens the sauce.
  4. Add uncooked shrimp to the skillet, cooking for about 5-6 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the drained fettuccine directly into the skillet. Toss gently and add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick. Serve immediately.
