Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup pure maple syrup recommended
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts optional
For the Maple Cinnamon Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 –2 tablespoons milk adjust for desired consistency
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Pan:Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth and combined.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy and well incorporated.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the blondies tender.
  6. Optional Add-In:If desired, fold in chopped walnuts for a crunchy texture.
  7. Bake:Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan.
  8. Prepare the Glaze:In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and cinnamon. Adjust the milk to achieve a drizzle-like consistency.
