Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking

Method

  1. Make the Meatballs: In a bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Form into small meatballs.
  2. Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned and fully cooked (about 8–10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, add honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute until thickened.
  5. Coat the Meatballs: Return the meatballs to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Let simmer for a couple of minutes.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Garnish with extra green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey with chicken or beef.
  • For extra spice, add red pepper flakes or sriracha to the sauce.
  • These meatballs can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes instead of pan-frying.
