Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • 1 tablespoon water if using cornstarch
  • Fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish

Method

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and sear for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Flip the salmon and pour the honey glaze over the fillets. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting with the glaze.
  6. (Optional) If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch with water, add it to the pan, and stir until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and let the salmon rest for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Substitutions: Swap honey with maple syrup or brown sugar for a different sweetness.
  • Add spice: Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
  • Best sides: Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
