Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 medium diced onion
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce use low-sodium if preferred
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger or substitute with ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup water
Garnishing Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp black/white sesame seeds optional

Method
 

Preparing the Pies
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and oil, mixing until dough forms. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
  2. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix ground beef, green onion, onion, oyster sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, ginger, and water until well combined. Cook a small spoonful for 2 minutes to taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. Divide rested dough into 8 pieces, roll into balls, and flatten into circles. Place 2.5 tablespoons of filling in each, fold over, and seal the edges tightly.
  5. Brush the tops with water and sprinkle sesame seeds. Set aside.
  6. Heat a skillet with oil over medium heat. Cook the pies for about 4 minutes until golden brown, flip, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  7. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
