  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt or use sour cream as an alternative.
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 whole Eggs

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw the phyllo pastry overnight in the refrigerator. About one hour before cooking, remove it and cover with a damp cloth.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in spices, leeks, and onion; sauté for another 3-5 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Prepare a greased baking dish or a large oven-safe skillet.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, Greek yogurt, water, olive oil, and eggs until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Unroll the phyllo pastry, cutting into two stacks. Layer several sheets in the greased baking dish, drizzling with the milk mixture as you go.
  6. Spread the cooled meat filling evenly over the layered phyllo.
  7. Repeat layering with the second stack of phyllo, drizzling with the milk mixture again.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let sit for about 10 minutes before serving warm.
