Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients, stirring gently.
  5. Divide the batter into three bowls. Add melted dark chocolate to one, strawberry puree to another, leaving the third plain.
  6. Pour each flavor into its prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow the layers to cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, frost the layers starting with the chocolate layer, then strawberry, and finally vanilla.
  9. Garnish with fresh strawberries or chocolate shavings if desired.
