For the Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or ground turkey/chicken for leaner option.
  • 4 oz Feta Cheese crumbled.
  • 1 large Egg beaten.
  • 1 small Chopped Onion finely chopped.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic sautéed.
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
For the Tomato Cream Sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or half and half, or coconut cream for dairy-free.
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste can substitute with tomato sauce.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for cooking.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled feta, beaten egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide into four equal portions and shape into thick patties, making an indentation in the center of each.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and add the patties. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the patties and cover to keep warm. Sauté the minced garlic in the same skillet for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the heavy cream and heat for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Stir in the crumbled feta and smoked paprika, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return patties to the skillet, spooning sauce over them, and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat, plate the burgers, and garnish with parsley and more feta if desired.
