Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillet skin-on or skinless
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian herbs or parsley
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for serving)
  • Foil for wrapping

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place a large sheet of foil on a baking sheet and lightly grease it.
  3. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it skin-side down on the foil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper, and herbs.
  5. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the salmon. Top with lemon slices.
  6. Fold the sides of the foil over the salmon, sealing to create a packet.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Carefully open the foil and broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden finish, if desired.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Cooking time may vary based on salmon thickness—check for doneness at 15 minutes.
  • You can add asparagus, zucchini, or green beans inside the foil for a full one-pan meal.
  • Swap butter with olive oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Fresh dill or thyme also works beautifully with this dish.
