Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Onion finely chopped
  • Chili powder
  • Cumin
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Large flour tortillas
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional garnishes: salsa fresh cilantro, sour cream, guacamole

Method

Prepare the Beef Filling:
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and continue cooking until softened. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, ensuring the beef is evenly coated with the spices.
Assemble the Wraps:
  1. Lay each flour tortilla flat and spoon the seasoned beef mixture into the center.
  2. Sprinkle both shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the beef.
Roll and Toast:
  1. Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a secure wrap.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down in the skillet and cook until the tortillas are golden and crispy, and the cheese has melted, turning as needed.
Serve:
  1. Remove the wraps from the skillet and garnish with fresh cilantro, salsa, or any desired toppings. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Customization: Feel free to add ingredients like diced jalapeños for extra heat, or cooked and crumbled bacon for a smoky flavor.
  • Storage: Leftover wraps can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet to maintain crispiness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Pair these wraps with a side of Mexican rice, refried beans, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
