Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, warm water, and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute. Add sliced onions and reduce heat; cook for 20-25 minutes until caramelized. Stir in spinach and cook until wilted.
  3. After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Spread marinara sauce over the dough, add the filling, sprinkle with nutritional yeast, and tightly roll it into a log. Cut into 1-2 inch pieces and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on them; they should puff up beautifully.
  6. Let the rolls cool for 5-10 minutes before serving warm with extra marinara sauce.
