Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) of active dry yeast. Stir until well blended.
- Gradually pour in 1½ cups of warm water (100-110°F) into the dry ingredients. Mix until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
- Fold in 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise at room temperature for at least 5 hours or overnight.
- Once doubled in size, flour a clean surface and gently pour the sticky dough onto it. Shape into a round loaf.
- Place the shaped loaf in a parchment-lined oven-safe dish and cover with a lid.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and bake the bread with the lid on for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Once baked, let the bread rest for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool.

Notes
Water temperature matters for yeast activation. Allowing the dough to rest overnight enhances flavor.
