  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet, heat 3 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add broccoli to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp and vibrant green.
  4. Mix in drained chickpeas, vegetable broth, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss in reserved pasta, adding pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency. Heat for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, if desired, and serve.
