Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by removing the tough membrane from the back of the baby back ribs for better tenderness.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, applewood seasoning, chipotle chili powder, and cracked black pepper to create a sweet and spicy rub.
- Once the rub is applied, cover the ribs with plastic wrap or place in a zip-top bag. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- In a deep roasting pan, mix chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and liquid smoke seasoning. Place the ribs in the pan, meat-side up, and cover tightly with aluminum foil.
- Place the covered roasting pan in the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- After baking, carefully transfer the ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the top, then set your oven to broil on low.
- Once broiling is complete, remove the ribs from the oven and tent loosely with foil. Let them rest for 10-15 minutes.
