Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Filling: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or olive oil. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute, then add fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Let cool.
  2. Preheat the Oven and Prepare Pastry: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment. Roll out the chilled puff pastry until 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Assemble the Twists: Spread the cooled spinach mixture over half of the pastry. Sprinkle with Parmesan and mozzarella. Fold pastry over the filling, pressing to seal the edges.
  4. Cut and Twist: Slice pastry into 1 inch wide strips and twist each strip a few times. Place twists on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
