Ingredients
  

  • 1 white cake mix prepare batter per package directions
  • Food coloring pink, yellow, teal, purple
  • 1 can white frosting
  • Edible Easter grass
  • Jelly bean Easter eggs
  • Optional: Easter sprinkles
  • 4 small jars 4-6 oz. each

Method
 

  1. Prepare the cake batter according to the package directions.
  2. Divide the batter into four separate bowls and tint each with a different pastel food coloring.
  3. Bake the cake in separate layers or a single pan, then let it cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, crumble each color into fine crumbs.
  5. In each jar, layer a spoonful of one color cake crumble, followed by a layer of frosting.
  6. Repeat with alternating colors until the jar is full.
  7. Top with edible Easter grass and jelly beans to resemble a festive Easter basket.
  8. Add sprinkles if desired, and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Let the jars sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for the best flavor.
  • Use a piping bag for the frosting layers to create a neater presentation.
  • Swap white cake for vanilla, funfetti, or lemon for a different flavor twist.
