Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz noodles lo mein, rice noodles, or spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 lb ground pork or chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Meat: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground pork or chicken and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add garlic and ginger, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add Veggies: Stir in shredded cabbage and carrots, cooking for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  5. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Pour over the meat and vegetables.
  6. Combine: Toss in the cooked noodles and stir until everything is well coated.
  7. Serve: Top with green onions and sesame seeds, then enjoy hot!
