For the Coating
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
For the Sandwich Assembly
  • 1 cup Dill Pickles Essential for classic flavor.
  • 2 cups Lettuce or Greens Optional, for freshness.
  • 4 buns Brioche or Sesame Burger Buns Soft and slightly sweet.
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 clove Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Hot Sauce Adjust for heat preference.

Method
 

Marinating and Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce, then add chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, cornstarch, and spices for the coating.
  3. Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture twice for a double coating.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry chicken for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Transfer fried chicken to a wire rack to cool and maintain crispiness.
Sauce and Assembly
  1. Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a bowl, adjusting for heat and flavor.
  2. Assemble the sandwich with pickles, fried chicken, creamy sauce, and optional lettuce on toasted buns.
