Preheat your oven to 375°F.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Sprinkle a small pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
