Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time
  4. Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt and gradually add to wet ingredients
  5. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for topping
  6. Shape dough into balls and roll in cinnamon-sugar
  7. Place on baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes

Notes

  • Slightly underbake for chewier centers
  • Use parchment for easy clean-up
  • Can be frozen after baking
