Ingredients

For the Brownies:
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1-ounce bottle green liquid food coloring
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon salt
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • cups powdered sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil, greasing it lightly.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  3. Mix in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, whisking after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a separate bowl, then slowly mix them into the wet ingredients.
  5. Add green food coloring and mix until the batter is evenly colored.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 44-48 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  8. Make the frosting by beating together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Spread frosting evenly over the brownies, slice into squares, and serve!

Notes

    • For a deeper green color, use gel food coloring instead of liquid.
    • Chill the brownies before slicing for clean, sharp edges.
    • Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
    • For a festive touch, top with green sprinkles or drizzle melted chocolate over the frosting.
