Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries pureed
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, then add strawberry puree, milk, and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour into pan and bake 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool before frosting or serving.

Notes

  • Top with strawberry cream cheese frosting or whipped cream.
  • Use freeze-dried strawberry powder for a deeper color and flavor.
