For the Beef Mixture
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey/chicken for a lighter option
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper adjust based on tolerance for spice
  • 3 stalks green onions chopped, or substitute with yellow onion
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce or low sodium tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha optional, adjust to taste
For the Vegetables
  • 4 cups shredded Brussels sprouts pre-shredded for convenience
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or vegetable/olive oil
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce choose preferred brand
  • 1 none lime optional, for brightening
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds optional

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 pound of lean ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Stir in garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, green onions, low sodium soy sauce, and optional sriracha. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add 4 cups of shredded Brussels sprouts and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
  3. Return the sautéed beef to the skillet with the Brussels sprouts. Pour in 1/4 cup of sweet chili sauce and squeeze lime juice over. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Remove from heat and serve warm. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
