Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the spice mixture by combining dried thyme, paprika, black pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and cumin in a bowl.
  2. Season the brisket by rubbing the spice mixture all over it. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup of water to the slow cooker to create steam.
  4. Place the seasoned brisket in the slow cooker fat side up.
  5. Drizzle liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce over the brisket.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  7. Shred the brisket after resting for 10 minutes.
  8. Combine the shredded brisket with barbecue sauce and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
