- 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 black tea bags)
- 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of honey (or your preferred sweetener, such as agave or maple syrup)
- ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)
Instructions
- Heat the Milk: Pour 2 cups of milk into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it starts to steam. Avoid boiling to prevent scorching.
- Infuse Tea and Cinnamon: Add 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 tea bags) and a cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon) to the steaming milk. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally to extract the flavors.
- Strain the Mixture: Remove from heat and strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer. Discard the tea leaves or bags and the cinnamon stick.
- Add Sweetener and Vanilla: Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of honey (or your choice of sweetener). Add ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg if desired.
- Serve: Pour the tea into mugs and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if you like. Enjoy warm for the best flavor.
