Description

This Homemade Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is the ultimate cozy beverage! With its creamy texture, fragrant vanilla, and a hint of warm spices, it’s a perfect drink for relaxing evenings or a delightful morning treat. This simple recipe is easily customizable for vegan and dairy-free diets, ensuring everyone can enjoy a comforting cup.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk (dairy or plant-based, like almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 black tea bags)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (or your preferred sweetener, such as agave or maple syrup)
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)

Instructions

  • Heat the Milk: Pour 2 cups of milk into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it starts to steam. Avoid boiling to prevent scorching.
  • Infuse Tea and Cinnamon: Add 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 tea bags) and a cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon) to the steaming milk. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally to extract the flavors.
  • Strain the Mixture: Remove from heat and strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer. Discard the tea leaves or bags and the cinnamon stick.
  • Add Sweetener and Vanilla: Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of honey (or your choice of sweetener). Add ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg if desired.
  • Serve: Pour the tea into mugs and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if you like. Enjoy warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • Vegan Option: Use plant-based milk and a vegan-friendly sweetener like agave syrup or maple syrup.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Customize the sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.
  • Spice Variations: Add a pinch of cardamom or cloves for a spicier twist.
  • Storage: Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat gently before serving.
