Description
These crispy, flavor-packed Applebee’s-inspired chicken wonton tacos are the perfect fusion appetizer or light meal. Each bite delivers tender Asian-style chicken, crunchy slaw, and a sweet, tangy glaze—better than takeout!
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup coleslaw mix
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 12 wonton wrappers
- Chopped cilantro and sliced green onions for garnish

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mold wonton wrappers over a baking rack or taco tray and bake for 7–9 minutes until golden brown.

In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add diced chicken, soy sauce, hoisin, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger. Cook for 5–7 minutes or until fully cooked.

In a bowl, combine coleslaw mix, rice vinegar, honey, and mayonnaise. Toss until coated.

Fill each baked wonton shell with cooked chicken and top with slaw.

Garnish with cilantro and green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Wonton shells can be air-fried instead of baked.
- Add sriracha to the slaw for a spicy kick.
- These are best assembled right before serving to keep the shells crisp.
